Connecting TiltBridge 2 to Fermentrack

TiltBridge to Fermentrack

Author's Note

I'm drafting these instructions mostly as a placeholder from memory in order to generate an evergreen URL I can then link to from within Fermentrack. My hope is to prep TiltBridge support within Fermentrack 2 for release, edit these instructions, and only then release - but there is always the chance that I get lazy/forget/otherwise delay, and someone finds these before the edit.

If you are reading this note, then congratulations: You have found these before the edit. I hope that they are sufficient to enable you to set up your TiltBridge within Fermentrack 2 – or at least are not embarrassing enough that you give up hope for Fermentrack's author and stop trying. If you run into trouble and need help, feel free to reach out on HomeBrewTalk, Reddit, or Discord.

Instructions

Before you can start using TiltBridge to log the readings from your Tilt Hydrometer to Fermentrack 2, you need to connect them together.

To begin with, identify the IP address of your TiltBridge by looking at the front.

Next, log into the web interface by typing it into the web browser of a phone/tablet/PC connected to the same network. Once you've opened the web interface, click the "Cloud Targets" button on the left.

A list of targets should appear. Choose "Fermentrack 2 / Fermentrack.net" from the list.

Click on the drop-down box, and select "Fermentrack.net" if you plan to use the cloud-hosted version of Fermentrack 2, or "Fermentrack 2 (Local/Custom)" if you plan to use an installation other than the one at Fermentrack.net.

You will be prompted to provide your Fermentrack username in order to link the TiltBridge to your account within the target Fermentrack installation. If using a custom installation, you will also need to provide the Hostname & Port of the target installation.

Once chosen, click "Update". Your TiltBridge will register itself with Fermentrack, and any Tilt Hydrometers that it picks up should begin to appear in Fermentrack 2's device list.
